narrative 2

Do you ever wonder what owls eat? People think that  owls just sit in a tree and hoot. In reality they help maintain the size of certain populations such as squirrels, skunks, frogs, small birds, and even animals the same size as me or larger. Their favorite food are insects and rodents. Owls are carnivores that means they only eat meat. They only hunt at night becasue they are nocturnel. Nocturnel is when you sleep in the day and are awake at night. There are 2 hunting methods. One is called perch and pounce and the other is called quartering.

1) What is your Topic:
 My topic is about softball.

2) What is the time period of story:
I started playing softball in 2006 and I still play.

3)List the major points, facts, events, people, and/or ideas of your story:
My current softball record can be seen here . Some major people that are involved in softball is my teammates because we support eachother and my coaches. My best friend comes to my games and watches too.

4)Why do you feel this story is important to tell?
This story is important to tell because it shows teamwork. When you work as a team it shows cooperation and that will lead to success. Working as team members it will help you learn about your strengths and weaknesses. You can use you strengths to help succeed.

5) What are some challenges of telling this story? (hard to find information, personal, etc)
Some challenges of telling this story is when the team loses. This season is tough because the pitcher graduated and she was really good. The team is still adjusting to having a new pitcher and new players.

Digital Story 2 Narrative

Katherine Kelly
4|19

I started playing softball in 2006. This year I play for CSIM Dragons varsity softball team. So far this season has been a struggle for the team because most of the players are young and the older girls were very good but they graduated. This years struggles will bring us closer as a team. You build character and a sense of "together" when times are hard. This helps you get to the "good" times and success. losing is never easy and when you can stay together as a team when you are losing then you have become a family. When we practice we get closer together. Sinse I'm a catcher me and the pitcher have to share a special connection. We have each others backs and mistakes will happen.

Story Script

My name is Katherine Kelly. I'm from Staten Island, New York. I was born in June 16th, 1994. I go to CSIHSIS and I am a sophomore .My parents names are John and Nancy and I have a 20 year old brother name Sean. Both of my parents work for the FDNY and my brother stocks shelfs in a grocery store. I grow up in a very diverse neighborhood but my family is Irish and German. My godmother is from Ireland. As a child i was raised a Catholic but as I got older my family stopped going to church. I am an Athiest but my mom wants me to start going to church with my friend. When I was in the seventh grade I got a drumset and I've been playing ever sinse. I listen to The Beastie Boys, Sublime, 2 Skinnee J's, Salt n Pepa, and a lot of other bands. In 6th or 7th grade i started playing for a softball team, and now I play for my high school. When I was three years old I swam for Great Kills Swim Club and when I got older I swam for Wagner College Aquatics too. After 10 years of competitive swimming I desided to quit. Swimming will always be one of my favrite sports. After high school I plan on going to college but I'm not sure witch one yet. My dream job is to be a comedian but it isn't a realistic job for me so I'll probably get a job with the FDNY or the Department of Sanitation.
